LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -
A person died late Wednesday night after what police said was a
home invasion in a west Las Vegas Valley neighborhood.

Lt. Patricia Spencer of Las Vegas Metro police said two people
kicked in the door of a residence near Cimarron Road and Alta
Drive. Spencer said someone inside the home fired multiple
shots, hitting one of the suspects.

Police later said the suspect was shot multiple times, ran from
the house and collapsed in the street.

The man, who was believed to be one of the people who broke in,
was taken to University Medical Center, where he later died.
Police were still searching for the other person involved, who
fled from the scene.

Anyone with additional information about this incident was asked
to call Metro's Homicide Section at 702-828-3521 or, to remain
anonymous, Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555. You may also leave
